Kitchen remodeling is the art of applying kitchen design skill, creativity and considerable knowledge to create a space that forms the dream of our clients and their living requirements. The existing kitchen may have outlived its usefulness, the family may have grown beyond the kitchens capacity or it may just be time to give it a fresh look and improve the value of the home and the happiness of those who use it! A good kitchen remodeling starts with a good kitchen design plan. Begin by accumulating ideas of what you like. Assemble the ideas in a file folder, for example pictures and clips from a magazine, notes from conversations, photos, brochures, web site prints, etc. Think about how you use your space. What do you like about it and what don't you like about it. Make a list. Think about how many cooks might use the kitchen and what preparations each might be doing at the same time. Consider what your storage needs are and if they will be out on the counter, concealed in the cabinetry or can they be in a remote location for occasional use.

Now that you've been very objective and practical about your kitchen remodeling project, set it all aside and put it out of your mind. It's time to throw all the logical thoughts out the window and visit with your left brain creative side.

Don't think about the room space, limitations, budget, any existing plans, etc. All you need for this segment is your wants, your wishes and your freedom to fantasize! Don't leave out anything no matter how small or seemingly inconsequential it may seem to you. Even handles and knobs become an important part of the finished project.
